I've been doing a fair bit of reflecting lately on how can I walk around happy, enjoying life while so many people are experiencing extreme suffering! My heart breaks for the crying, scared Ukrainian children and their families! Yes, I can donate money but then what? Personally, I find reading and seeking out wisdom is always helpful for me!
The article below spoke to me, particularily these words:
"Being able to enjoy happiness doesn’t require that we have zero suffering. In fact, the art of happiness is also the art of suffering well. When we learn to acknowledge, embrace, and understand our suffering, we suffer much less. Not only that, but we’re also able to go further and transform our suffering into understanding, compassion, and joy for ourselves and for others."
After the article, I reflected again and I could see the humanity and compassion in the Polish people who have currently welcomed over 100.000 Ukrainians into their country and provided them nourishment, safety, and shelter.
If this resonates with you at all, take a few minutes to read 'Transforming Suffering.'
Namaste and kindness to you all!
